Calvin M. GUILLIAMS, was born in Powell's Valley, Campbell County, Tennessee, December 7, 1818 of Welsh ancestors who formerly lived
in Virginia.
He and his father moved to northern Indiana where on May 3, 1840 he married Mary A. CREGER (born in
Wythe Co., VA) in Fountain County, Indiana. Shortly after, he moved to Rock Island County, Ilinois; then to Fulton County, Illinois
and in 1849 came to Missouri where in March 1850 he settled on Section 35, Township 62, Range 40 (I think this is just
north of Craig; the 1898 atlas shows an A. GUILLIAMS on this land parcel) where he has since lived. He farmed and
traded in stock.
In 1869, he built a flouring and sawmill on the Big Tarkio Creek near his residence. He managed
Guilliams Mill until January, 1877. In politics he is a Republican. He has 5 children; Rufus M., Francis T., Calvin M.
Jr., Daniel W. and Mary E.
