Miller Family History
Glenn E. Miller has provided us with a history of the MILLER family below
Peter MUELLER/MULLER was born in Germany abt. 1614, along with his wife, Catharina LUTGE. Johann Peter MULLER/MILLER was also born in Germany and died there.
Son, Jeremias [Jeremiah] MULLER/MILLER, was also born in Germany, as well as his wife. They arrived on the ship Molley from Rotterdam, Holland to Deal, England and on
to Philadelphia on October 16, 1741. They apparently settled in or around Carlisle, in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Anna Elisabeth [DUNCK] both
died and are buried there. Son Stephen, (page 2) our line, was also born there as well as his wife, Catherine "Katie" HAVERBOUR. He died in Nicholas County, Kentucky
and she in Bourbon County, Kentucky. They had 13 children, one of which was William (page 2), born in Bourbon County, Kentucky. His wife, Jane MARTIN was born in Augusta County,
Virginia. They were married in St. Charles, Missouri.
About 1830 the families moved to Millersburg, Calloway County, Missouri, near Fulton, and William died there November 22, 1839. William and Jane had 6 children, among them
Martin A. (page 2) and Allen D. MILLER (our line). Allen married Mirah REED, who was born abt. 1810, in St. Charles, Missouri on October 22, 1828. They had four children,
William born 1830, Frederick T. born March 19, 1831, John M. born 1836 and George William MILLER (our line) born August 11, 1828. Mirah died when George was born or soon
after. Allen D. MILLER then married Mary J. CROWSON (page 2). (Decendants Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 ) They had children Thomas F. (page 2), Mary J., Sarah J., Louisa F.,
James Dee, Albert S., Nancy, Laura, Ella, Edward M. and Frank S. MILLER
When George was about 9 years old the family moved to Rochester, Andrew County, Missouri. They were farmers and Allen D. MILLER bought a farm there in Rochester Township.
Allen and Jane both died there and are buried in the Long Branch Church cemetery in Rochester (Allen D. MILLER's Obituary). George MILLER (our line) grew up there and
married Nancy Victoria BROWN , born January 30, 1847, in Savannah, Andrew County, Missouri. They moved to a farm near Rochester and had three sons and a daughter. One
son, Iven Brown MILLER (our line) was born there January 4, 1869. Prior to 1890 George, Nancy, Iven and Charles moved north of Forest City, Holt County, Missouri on a
farm. In the spring of 1895, Fay, a grandson of George and Nancy, whose mother Effie died when Fay was born or soon after, came to live with them. Iven married Ida F.
BURRIER on April 3, 1917 and moved to a farm north west of Oregon, Holt County, Missouri. They had four sons, Glenn, Galen, Lewis and Lawrence. Iven and Ida both died
there and are buried in the Maple Grove cemetery in Oregon, Holt County, Missouri. Now you know the rest of the story......
